Welcome to Door Pottery’s (.net) in-stock site
Welcome to Door Pottery of Wisconsin, where I continue to bring you the finest quality handmade Arts and Crafts pottery from a small one person studio. My inspiration and influence comes from The Prairie School of Design and gorgeous Midwest landscapes right here in the Midwest. Being semi retired, I’ve been able to lean more into my artistic creativity and expression, which has helped get me back to my roots in the world of pottery. The pieces here on doorpottery.net are available for immediate purchase and typically ship within 5-7 business days.
I will continue teaching 2 classes a week plus some extra glazing classes during the summer months. If I had realized how much I enjoy this role, I would have started 20 years sooner. But it is a great part time gig for retirement, and I find it really suits me. Tina and I have been getting back out into nature, biking a few times but mostly doing some hiking up near Devil’s Lake. She likes to say nature has a healing quality and I think she may have something there.
Thank you so much for your continued support and purchases of my pottery. I will start shipping next week, in the order that the purchases were received. I appreciate your patience as the packing process can be a bit tedious, especially for the larger vases. I sometimes have to build my own boxes in order to accommodate some of the sizes.
I leave you with this quote, “If you ever come across a piece of pottery that is perfect, you can be confident that it was produced by a machine. With pottery, you must seek near perfection. If you look carefully enough, you will always find some slight blemish that serves to remind us that the piece was crafted by a human hand. The longer you have to search, the greater the craftsman.”
